The Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation Trust Fund Advisory Committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, September 2 at 2 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Hall of Fame Room at the Agriculture Building, located at 2 W. Edenton St., Raleigh. Members of the public can also participate by calling conference number 984-204-1487 and entering conference ID 711 309 602, followed by the pound key.

The agenda includes a review of the trust fund budget and open contracts. The committee will hear reports on ongoing conservation easement projects, updates from county programs, information about grant monitoring and stewardship activities, and an update on recent and upcoming easement closings. Updates regarding the program calendar, rules, local partnerships, and federal collaborations with military entities and the USDA are also planned. An update on Cycle 19 grant applications will be presented as well.

The Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation Trust Fund aims to support farming, forestry, and horticulture communities within North Carolina’s agriculture sector. It does this by purchasing agricultural conservation easements, funding initiatives that promote profitable family farms, and supporting conservation efforts focused on active production of food, fiber, and other agricultural products.
