Raleigh Water recently hosted Sallyanne, a visitor from Bendigo, Australia, who is active in the water industry. Her visit was facilitated by the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and aimed to explore Raleigh’s water treatment facilities.

Sallyanne embarked on this journey after a 26-hour travel day, arriving amidst a heat wave affecting Raleigh and surrounding areas. Despite the challenging weather conditions, she toured the E.M. Johnson Water Treatment Plant equipped with Raleigh Water safety gear.

During her visit, Sallyanne noted that regardless of location—whether in Raleigh or Australia—the mission remains consistent: “Providing safe drinking water to our communities.”

The tour included exchanges of questions and answers between Sallyanne and the Raleigh Water team. A lighthearted moment occurred when she humorously responded to an inquiry about kangaroos in her backyard: “I do have kangaroos in my backyard, but I tend to stay away—they can be quite vicious.”

Raleigh Water expressed gratitude for Sallyanne’s visit and her willingness to endure the humidity during the plant tours.
