Congressman Brad Knott, who represents North Carolina’s 13th congressional district, has recently addressed constituents on social media regarding the ongoing government shutdown and services provided by his office.

On October 16, 2025, Knott commented on the shutdown with a post stating, “Listen when they tell you…it’s why the government is shut down.” Later that day, he shared information about nominating students to military academies, writing, “As a Member of Congress, I have the honor of nominating students to our nation’s prestigious military academies. There is still time to apply, so visit my website or contact my office to learn more! https://t.co/xeoNGBMqZ8 https://t.co/KRQ6sVIeCo”

On October 17, 2025, Knott assured constituents that his office remains operational despite the shutdown. He posted, ” ATTENTION #NC13 Despite the government shutdown, we’re continuing to work hard on constituents’ casework. Reach out to my office if you have questions or need help! https://t.co/ACUGkC7vuk”

Knott was elected in 2024 after defeating Frank Pierce in the general election with 58.6% of the vote.
