Congressman Brad Knott has recently taken to social media to address issues related to criminal justice and government funding. In a series of posts on October 1, 2025, Knott commented on legislative responses to violent crime and the ongoing dispute over a government shutdown.

On October 1, 2025, Knott stated, “For any illegal alien who rapes an American child, the law needs to change. If convicted for these heinous crimes, no penalty is too severe.”

Later that day, he addressed the ongoing government funding debate: “After Republicans passed a clean CR to keep the government open, Democrats demanded unrealistic and devastating revisions that they KNEW would not pass. This is their shutdown. Just take a look at some of the Democrats’ radical demands: https://t.co/cyYrqMvEok” (October 1, 2025).

In another post on October 1, Knott wrote: “The @HouseGOP passed a clean C.R. on a bipartisan basis. @SenSchumer and the @SenateDems need to look at the country as opposed to their far left base. If they do, they’ll pass the House bill and keep the government open.”

Brad Knott was elected in 2024 after defeating Frank Pierce in the general election with 58.6% of the vote compared to Pierce’s 41.4%. The continuing resolution (CR) referenced by Knott is part of an ongoing negotiation between House Republicans and Senate Democrats over federal spending bills.
