Congressman Brad Knott, who represents North Carolina’s 13th Congressional District, recently used his social media platform to highlight legislative and local agricultural issues. In a series of posts on July 24 and July 25, Knott discussed his proposed Stop Illegal Entry Act and ongoing engagement with the farming community in North Carolina.
On July 24, Knott announced his appearance on SiriusXM radio to discuss immigration policy. He wrote, “I joined @WilkowMajority on @SIRIUSXM to discuss my bill, the Stop Illegal Entry Act and why it’s needed to stop criminal illegal aliens from bringing crime to our communities.” (July 24, 2025).
Later that day, he posted about meeting with local farmers: “It is always my privilege sit down with the North Carolina farmers. Last week, I met with the N.C. Soybean Producers Association to discuss the priorities of our #NC13 farmers and rural economies. It is an honor to work on behalf of NC farmers (some of the finest in the world)” (July 24, 2025).
Addressing criticism of his immigration bill on July 25, Knott stated: “Nearly every Democrat in Congress seems to think my bill is too harsh and too broad. That is nonsense and it’s an excuse to protect their preference for unchecked illegal immigration. Here are the facts.
The Stop Illegal Entry Act will ONLY apply to an illegal alien IF:
1.” (July 25, 2025).
Knott’s focus on both border security legislation and agricultural advocacy reflects ongoing national debates over immigration enforcement as well as persistent concerns among rural communities regarding federal policies. The discussion around the Stop Illegal Entry Act comes amid broader partisan disagreements over how best to address unauthorized immigration at the southern border.
As a member of Congress representing a district with significant agricultural interests, Knott has emphasized regular communication with local producers such as those affiliated with the N.C. Soybean Producers Association.
