Congressman Brad Knott, who won his seat in 2024 by defeating Frank Pierce with 58.6% of the vote, used his social media platform on September 11, 2025, to announce developments regarding immigration legislation and express his stance on illegal immigration.

In a post at 12:53 p.m. UTC, Knott stated, “It’s time for illegal immigrant criminals to know that our tolerance for their presence and illegal activity in our country is over. It’s time to pass the Stop Illegal Entry Act.”

Later that day at 2:52 p.m. UTC, he provided an update on the legislative process: “The Stop Illegal Entry Act passed the House with bipartisan support and is headed to the Senate. This critical legislation fixes a crucial loophole in our immigration system with robust penalties whenever an illegal immigrant is convicted of a felony or attempts to illegally”

At 3:12 p.m. UTC, Knott commented on opposition within Congress and signaled executive support for the bill: “Despite 197 Democrats voting AGAINST punishing dangerous criminal illegal aliens – including narcoterrorists, murderers, rapists, and other felons – @HouseGOP passed my bill with @RepBice signaling a major victory for the American people.

@POTUS said he’s ready to sign, so I”

Brad Knott assumed office after winning against Frank Pierce in the general election held in 2024 by a margin of more than seventeen percentage points.

The Stop Illegal Entry Act referenced by Knott aims to introduce stricter penalties for non-citizens convicted of felonies or attempting unlawful entry into the United States. The bill has now advanced from the House of Representatives with bipartisan backing and awaits consideration in the Senate.
