Raleigh Parks announced on June 1 that the Caraleigh Park reopening celebration will take place on Wednesday, July 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. at 110 Maywood Avenue in Raleigh. The event will include free cold treats, sensory-friendly activities, music, and an opportunity to meet public artist Jean Gray Mohs.
The project was made possible by an Accessibility for Parks Grant. Event organizers said RSVP is preferred but not required by Wednesday, June 24. Those interested can email RSVP@raleighnc.gov for more information.
Parking options for attendees include street parking at the event location as well as additional parking at Eliza Pool Park and Mount Hope Cemetery. Organizers noted that no restrooms will be available during the event.
