The Carolina Hurricanes will host a community benefit game against the Florida Panthers at Lenovo Center on September 24. The organization announced that all ticket revenue from this exhibition match will go to local nonprofit organizations and community programs.
The event builds on what the team described as a record year for the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation, which distributed $1.7 million in donations during the 2024-25 season to support various initiatives throughout the Triangle and North Carolina.
“Coming off our most impactful year ever, the Community Game is our next big step forward,” said Amy Daniels, Executive Director of the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation. “Every seat filled, every dollar raised, helps us continue doing the work that matters most — from hurricane relief to youth programs to health and education support.”
Tickets for the game will be available starting Wednesday. General admission is priced at $10, with reserved seats on the glass available for $100 and seats in rows two through five offered at $50. Parking for attendees will be free, with additional donations accepted. Each fan can purchase up to eight tickets, and all remaining seats are first-come, first-served.
Doug Warf, President of the Carolina Hurricanes, commented on the broader purpose of the event: “The Community Game is where our values as an organization shine brightest,” said Warf. “This isn’t just about hockey — it’s about heart, and about giving back to the people who make North Carolina special.”
In its 25th year of operation, the Foundation highlighted several grants made possible by last season’s fundraising efforts. These included support for academic intervention programs at Boys & Girls Club of Wake County; therapeutic services for children with Down syndrome at GiGi’s Playhouse; leadership development for underserved girls through Girl Scouts North Carolina Coastal Pines; and streaming equipment for Cape Fear Youth Hockey Association families affected by military base access restrictions.
Other grant recipients included Arts For Life, Book Harvest, Carolina Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA), Carolina Junior Hurricanes Hockey Association, Friends of the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences LLC, Green Chair Project, Greensboro Youth Hockey Association, NeighborHealth Center, North Carolina Amateur Sports, North East Wake Backpack Buddies, Note in the Pocket, Table, Tammy Lynn Center, The Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education, The Carying Place, The Foundation of Hope for Research & Treatment of Mental Illness, Triangle Special Hockey, Triangle Youth Hockey of North Carolina, United Arts Council, Wake Education Partnership, Wilmington Junior Seahawks, Winston-Salem Youth Hockey Association and YMCA of the Triangle.
