The Carolina Hurricanes have announced their roster for the 2025 Prospects Showcase, scheduled to take place from September 12 to 15 at AdventHealth Center Ice in Wesley Chapel, Florida. Eric Tulsky, General Manager of the Hurricanes, made the announcement.
Cam Abbott, head coach of the Chicago Wolves, will lead the Hurricanes during this year’s showcase. The full team roster has been released ahead of the tournament.
This event marks the sixth time that Carolina has participated in the Prospects Showcase. The hosting responsibilities rotate among participating teams; Carolina previously hosted in Raleigh in 2022. Over four days, all four teams—Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Nashville Predators—will compete against each other.
The schedule begins on Friday, September 12 with Carolina facing off against Florida at 2 p.m., followed by Tampa Bay playing Nashville at 5 p.m. On Saturday, September 13, Nashville will play Carolina at 2 p.m., and Tampa Bay will meet Florida at 5 p.m. Sunday is reserved as a practice day. The event concludes on Monday with Florida playing Nashville at noon and Tampa Bay facing Carolina at 3 p.m.
Eligibility for participation includes skaters or goaltenders under entry-level contracts who are age 24 or younger and have played fewer than 20 NHL games. Exceptions may be granted if all teams agree. Each game features three periods of twenty minutes each; if tied after regulation, a five-minute three-on-three overtime period is played. Regardless of outcome, every contest ends with a five-player-per-team shootout.
