The Carolina Hurricanes have sent goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL) for a conditioning assignment, according to an announcement from General Manager Eric Tulsky.
Kochetkov, age 26, has not played in the first 10 games of this season due to a lower body injury. Last season with the Hurricanes, he recorded a 27-16-3 win-loss record, with a 2.60 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage over 47 games. In the playoffs, he posted a 1-1-0 record with a 3.60 GAA and .855 save percentage in four appearances.
Drafted by Carolina in the second round (36th overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft, Kochetkov has appeared in 116 NHL games for the team. His career numbers include a 65-36-12 record, a 2.47 GAA, and a .905 save percentage. In the AHL, playing for both Chicago and Syracuse, he holds a career record of 33-7-4 with a 2.38 GAA, .911 save percentage, and three shutouts across 44 games.
