The Carolina Hurricanes are expected to use the same lineup that has contributed to most of their 10 postseason victories as they face the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre on May 27. The team arrives following consecutive overtime wins, with Andrei Svechnikov scoring his second goal of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs, assisted by a screen from Sebastian Aho.
Carolina’s defense was instrumental in their latest victory, limiting Montreal to just 13 shots over more than 74 minutes of play. Through the first three games of the series, the Hurricanes have held the Canadiens to a total of 47 shots on goal. Frederik Andersen is set for his twelfth start in net this postseason. Head coach Rod Brind’Amour said after Game 3, “That’s the right guy for us in this situation because he is just calm. Whether we’re giving up 30 shots a night or whatever it was (Monday), he’s going to be the same. That’s kind of what you want to see out of him.”
The projected forward lines include Svechnikov, Aho, and Jarvis; Hall, Stankoven, and Blake; Ehlers, Staal, and Martinook; Carrier, Jankowski, and Robinson. On defense are Slavin with Chatfield; Miller with Walker; Gostisbehere with Nikishin. Andersen will start as goaltender.
There are no reported injuries for tonight’s game. Scratches include Nicolas Deslauriers, Pyotr Kochetkov, Jesperi Kotkaniemi, and Mike Reilly.
Power play units feature Aho, Ehlers (Staal), Jarvis and Svechnikov with Gostisbehere on PP1; Blake, Hall, Jankowski and Stankoven with Miller on PP2. Jordan Staal has been taking faceoffs at the start of most power plays: if he wins it for either unit, he remains on until there is a zone exit.
According to the official website, players such as Eric Staal and Rod Brind’Amour have been recognized in the Carolina Hurricanes Hall of Fame for their significant contributions to the team’s history—including winning their first Stanley Cup in 2006.
