The Carolina Hurricanes have added forward Kevin Labanc to their training camp roster on a professional tryout agreement. The move comes as the team continues preparations for the upcoming season.

Labanc, 29, is aiming to secure a spot in what would be his tenth NHL season. He was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in 2014 and played with them until 2024. Last season, he attended training camp with the New Jersey Devils on a similar tryout before signing a one-year contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Over his career, Labanc has recorded 84 goals and 153 assists for a total of 237 points across 512 NHL games.

“Don’t know who needs to hear this but Kevin Labanc’s hatty tonight gives him SIX goals this preseason. Not bad for a PTO.” — NHL (@NHL)

Labanc joins Givani Smith and Oliver Kylington, who were also recently signed to professional tryouts by the Hurricanes.
