The Carolina Hurricanes announced on May 11 that forward Mark Jankowski has signed a two-year contract extension with the team. The agreement will pay Jankowski an average annual value of $1.85 million through the 2027-28 season.
General Manager Eric Tulsky said, “Mark has been an excellent fit for our organization throughout his time here. He’s proven he can contribute in different ways, and we are glad he’s chosen to remain with the organization.”
Jankowski, age 31, recorded 21 points (11 goals and 10 assists) with a +7 plus/minus rating in 68 regular-season games for Carolina during the 2025-26 season. He also added one assist in eight playoff appearances this year. Over his National Hockey League career, Jankowski has registered a total of 145 points (79 goals and 66 assists) across 482 games played for several teams including the Flames, Penguins, Sabres, Predators, and Hurricanes. In playoff competition, he has four points (one goal and three assists) over thirty-one games with Calgary, Nashville, and Carolina.
Before joining the NHL ranks, Jankowski played four seasons at Providence College where he won an NCAA championship in 2015. He was originally selected by the Calgary Flames as the twenty-first overall pick in the first round of the 2012 NHL Draft. The Hurricanes acquired him from Nashville on March 7, 2025 in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the upcoming draft.
