On April 12, 2024, the work of landscape architects was celebrated for their dedication to creating beautiful and enjoyable outdoor spaces for communities. Three standout professionals were recognized for their unique contributions to the field.

Shawsheen Baker, known for her passion for blending creativity and science, particularly enjoys designing playgrounds. She believes that these spaces offer children not only a place to play but also to grow and learn. According to Shawsheen, “designing playgrounds because they offer children a place to play and grow.”

Terry Naranjo, another talented landscape architect, sees his work as a way to create meaningful experiences for communities. His favorite projects involve bringing people together with nature and culture through collaborative design. Terry shared, “landscape architecture is about creating meaningful experiences. Di Gao, with a focus on public projects, combines her love for nature with an understanding of human behavior in her work. She is dedicated to promoting health and sustainability through her projects. Di expressed her passion, stating, “Her favorite projects promote both health and sustainability.”

The contributions of Shawsheen, Terry, Di, and all landscape architects were acknowledged and appreciated for their efforts in making parks beautiful and enjoyable spaces for everyone to enjoy.
