Community Planning Month will be observed in October, encouraging residents to participate in shaping the future of their neighborhoods. The initiative highlights the importance of collaboration among residents, businesses, and local governments in addressing issues such as land use, transportation, housing, and sustainability.

“Community planning is all about teamwork. It brings together residents, businesses, and local governments to build the future of our neighborhoods. By addressing key issues such as land use, transportation, housing, and sustainability, we can create inclusive spaces that work for everyone.”

The city encourages community members to take an active role by attending local planning meetings, completing surveys, or sharing their ideas for neighborhood improvement. “Don’t just observe; get involved! Your voice is a powerful tool for change. Attend a local planning meeting, complete a survey, or share your vision for a better neighborhood. Let’s work together to build places that not only reflect our shared values but also inspire our future.”

Several events are scheduled throughout October as part of Community Planning Month activities. These include RHDC meetings on October 1, 7, 8, and 23; Development Stakeholders on October 9; Northern BRT Detailed Route Screening Outreach on October 2 and 6; and the start of Planning Academy on October 22.
