The City of Raleigh’s Information Technology team was honored with a Best of North Carolina Technology Award at the NC Digital Government Summit in August. The recognition was given for the team’s implementation of ‘Ask Raleigh,’ a new customer relationship management (CRM) system.
Built on ServiceNow Public Sector Digital Services, ‘Ask Raleigh’ replaced an older platform. The new system integrates geographic information system (GIS) data and connects directly with the City’s asset management software, Cityworks. This integration allows residents to avoid submitting service requests outside city service areas and gives staff access to real-time updates on issues and repairs.
According to the city, “City IT’s innovative work significantly improved efficiency, transparency and citizen engagement, showcasing exceptional technical skill, collaboration, and a deep commitment to high-quality public service.”
The Best of North Carolina IT Awards are designed to recognize technology innovations within government entities across the state.
Members of the City IT team involved in this project included Chris King, Bryce Clodfelter, Michael Mears, Jackie Stewart, Chad Foley, Peter Sherman, Veronica Luna, Kyle Mankes, Justin Greco, and Tonya Ross-Campbell.
