Today, the public’s interest in honey bees is growing. These insects play a crucial role in pollinating flowers, which are essential for producing fruits and vegetables. They also produce honey for consumption.
An upcoming event aims to educate attendees about honey bees and beekeeping as a hobby. This family-friendly program will include a presentation, hands-on stations, and a Q&A session. The organizers encourage those interested in honey bees or beekeeping to attend.
The event will take place at the Pullen Community Center on Saturday, February 22, from 10 a.m. to noon. It is open to individuals aged nine and up and is free of charge. Registration is required through RecLink.
Participants should note that live bees may be present at the event, but they will be contained within enclosed observation hives.
