Congressman Brad Knott has made several statements on social media addressing border security, law enforcement operations, and U.S. reliance on China for critical minerals.

On July 16, 2025, Knott asserted that Democrats were responsible for illegal mass migration and its consequences. He wrote, “A secure border is essential. It is now clear Democrats purposefully designed and facilitated illegal mass migration that has harmed every corner of America … and they’re STILL defending it. Now, they call Americans “racist” or “inhumane” for applauding our efforts to secure”.

The following day, July 17, 2025, Knott addressed the topic of law enforcement operations at the border. He stated, “As anyone who has worked in law enforcement knows, the Democrats’ open border brought tremendously violent criminals into the United States. There is no issue, in any way, with law enforcement concealing their identities during an operation to protect themselves and their”.

Later on July 17, Knott discussed economic security and U.S.-China relations: “I am proud to work with @USRepGaryPalmer to end our dependence on China and the CCP for critical minerals. Relying on an adversary for ANY necessary resource creates unnecessary risks and denies us the opportunity to grow an important industry here at home.”

U.S. policy regarding critical minerals has been under scrutiny due to concerns about supply chain vulnerabilities stemming from reliance on imports from countries such as China. Recent legislative efforts have focused on bolstering domestic production and reducing foreign dependence in this sector.

Border security remains a divisive political issue in the United States. Lawmakers have debated various approaches to immigration control and law enforcement practices along the southern border.
