Duke Energy Foundation has announced an investment of $789,000 to support 23 Florida colleges, universities, and education programs. This funding aims to develop a skilled workforce that will meet the growing demands of the energy industry.
“As Florida continues to deploy modern energy infrastructure and meet the needs of the growing state, Duke Energy Foundation is investing in programs that will build the next generation workforce and create access to training and job skills that fit community needs,” said a spokesperson from Duke Energy.
The University of Central Florida received $75,000 for engineering and computer technology initiatives. The University of Florida was also awarded $75,000 for utility industry exploration programs aimed at middle and high school students. The University of South Florida secured $75,000 for career exploration summer programming.
Additional funds are allocated to various organizations across the state for career exploration programs, technology upgrades, STEM education resources, mentorship opportunities, and more. These efforts align with Duke Energy’s ongoing commitment to workforce development.
