With rising temperatures predicted across the Carolinas, Duke Energy is offering guidance to help customers manage their energy consumption and maintain comfort. The company has shared several strategies for saving energy and reducing costs.

Among the recommendations are setting thermostats to the highest comfortable temperature, using cooler water for laundry, operating heat-producing appliances during cooler morning hours, closing curtains on sunny sides of homes, and running ceiling fans counterclockwise in summer.

Duke Energy also provides various savings programs. Customers can receive a free home energy assessment that includes an efficiency kit and expert advice. Rebates are available for equipment upgrades through the Smart $aver program. Additionally, participants in the Power Manager or EnergyWise Home programs can earn credits by shifting energy use to off-peak times.

For those needing financial assistance with bills, Duke Energy offers installment payment plans and collaborates with local agencies to connect customers with resources like the Share the Light Fund and Low Income Home Energy Assistance programs.

Duke Energy is a Fortune 150 company based in Charlotte, N.C., serving millions of electric and natural gas customers across multiple states. The company focuses on enhancing customer reliability while investing in cleaner energy solutions.
