A Heat Advisory has been issued from 11 a.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday, followed by an Extreme Heat Watch from 10 a.m. Tuesday to 8 p.m. Wednesday. These alerts warn of potential heat illnesses due to hot temperatures and humid conditions.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issues a Heat Advisory when the heat index, which combines temperature and humidity, is expected to reach dangerous levels of typically 100°F or higher for one to two days. An Extreme Heat Warning indicates even more severe conditions with a heat index reaching or exceeding 105°F for at least two consecutive days, posing significant threats to life and property.

Residents are advised to take extra precautions outdoors during these periods. Information on cooling stations and water safety around rivers is available for those seeking relief from the heat.

In case the extreme heat affects city services, updates will be provided on the city’s website and social media channels.
