Honeywell has announced the launch of TrackWise Recall Management, a new cloud-based software platform that uses artificial intelligence to help life sciences manufacturers manage product recalls. The company says the platform aims to improve patient safety and reduce the business impact of recalls.

According to data from 24x7Mag.com, there was a 13.8% increase in medical device and pharmaceutical recalls in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the previous quarter, with 296 recalls reported. These events can have significant financial and reputational consequences for companies if not addressed quickly.

TrackWise Recall Management is designed to allow organizations to respond rapidly to recall situations by automating workflows that previously relied on manual spreadsheets. Honeywell states that this automation can reduce execution time from weeks to minutes and minimize downtime during large-scale recall events. The system integrates data across various departments and systems, providing real-time monitoring of regulatory compliance and facilitating communication among stakeholders during critical decision-making periods.

“Honeywell’s innovative TrackWise platform continues to evolve to better serve the heavily regulated life sciences industry and its critical need to safely manufacture and distribute life-changing products,” said Pramesh Maheshwari, President of Honeywell Process Solutions. “Our new recall management system leverages advanced automation to not only enhance compliance but also ensure that patient and consumer safety remains at the forefront of our partners’ operations.”

The platform features adaptable signal detection, decision-making tools, execution capabilities, and regulatory reporting functions tailored for different manufacturers. It also offers integration with existing systems for real-time visibility across product lines, helping organizations make informed decisions focused on patient safety.

Honeywell provides solutions across several industries worldwide through its Aerospace Technologies, Industrial Automation, Building Automation, and Energy and Sustainability Solutions business segments. More information about TrackWise Recall Management is available at TrackWise.com.
