Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the real-life events it depicts, Season 2 of “Every Minute Counts” is now available for streaming on Prime Video. The show, which first premiered in November 2024, covers the hours following the 8.1-magnitude earthquake in Mexico City and its aftershocks, focusing on both everyday people and high-ranking officials.
The second season continues with Dr. Ángel trapped in rubble as his condition remains unknown. Rescue efforts are stalled by government decisions, while Pepín and other students volunteer at their collapsed school. Meanwhile, Camila uncovers a secret involving the army as an aftershock looms.
Returning cast members for this season include Osvaldo Benavides, Maya Zapata, Antonio de la Vega, Miriam Balderas, Jesús Zavala, Azalia Ortiz, and Luis Fernando Peña. New additions to the cast feature Gerardo Trejoluna and Lucila Olalde. The series is directed and co-written by Jorge Michel Grau alongside writers Alfredo Félix-Díaz, Victoria Orvañanos, Natalie Quevedo, Alejandro Valenzuela, and Venancio Villalobos.
“Every Minute Counts” is produced by Amazon Studios and Traziende Films.
The series can be watched on Prime Video with an Amazon Prime membership. The subscription costs $14.99 per month or $139 annually and includes benefits such as fast shipping and exclusive deals. Discounted memberships are also offered: young adults aged 18–24 and college students can start with a six-month trial before paying $7.49 per month or $69 per year; qualifying recipients of government assistance can access a discounted rate after a 30-day free trial at $6.99 per month.
Other fictionalized dramas based on real events available on Prime Video include “Thirteen Lives,” “Chernobyl,” and “Deepwater Horizon.”
