Prepare to revisit the fictional rock band Spinal Tap as Prime Video releases the sequel “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues.” The new film, directed by Rob Reiner, follows up on the 1984 mockumentary “This Is Spinal Tap,” which has had a lasting impact on comedy and music films.

“Spinal Tap II: The End Continues” will be available for rent at $19.99 and for purchase at $24.99 on Prime Video starting Tuesday, September 30. Customers can preorder the film now. Rentals provide viewers with 30 days to begin watching and 48 hours to finish once started. A Prime membership is not required; anyone can rent or buy titles from the Prime Video store.

The sequel features Michael McKean as David St. Hubbins, Christopher Guest as Nigel Tufnel, and Harry Shearer as Derek Smalls—reprising their roles as members of Spinal Tap reuniting after 15 years for one final show. The cast also includes Stormy Daniels, Questlove, Chad Smith, Lars Ulrich, among others. Rob Reiner returns both as director and in his role as documentarian Marty DiBergi. The screenplay was co-written by Guest, McKean, Shearer, and Reiner.

The original film “This Is Spinal Tap” is also available on Prime Video for $5.99 to rent or $14.99 to buy. It documents the U.S. tour of Spinal Tap through filmmaker Marty DiBergi’s lens and highlights various misadventures faced by the band during their attempt to maintain relevance.

Prime Video continues to add new content in October with premieres such as “Play Dirty,” “Hazbin Hotel,” and more films, series, sports events, and episodes debuting this month on the streaming platform.
