State and local law enforcement authorities have apprehended a juvenile who escaped from the Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention custody during a medical appointment in Charlotte on June 25.

According to officials, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department took the juvenile, identified as Alberto P., back into custody at 5 a.m. in East Charlotte. The individual will be returned to secure custody at a Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention juvenile detention center.
