Congressman Brad Knott recently hosted a Veteran Services Initiative in Harnett County, North Carolina, aiming to connect local veterans with support and resources. The event was organized in partnership with Harnett County officials and several veteran-supporting organizations. More than 100 veterans attended the gathering, which offered access to a range of services in one location.
“When it comes to serving our veterans and ensuring they have the support they have earned, I firmly believe we must always seek to improve and never accept the status-quo,” Rep. Knott said. “Today’s event is just a beginning effort to advocate for our veterans; we’ll be holding more of these events in the future. My team also stands ready to assist, so I encourage all veterans in NC-13 to call us if there’s anything we can do to help.”
Jennifer Melton, Director of Suicide Prevention for Veterans Services of the Carolinas, commented on the impact of Knott’s efforts: “Congressman Knott’s work to make veterans’ services more accessible has been a huge success,” she said. “If you are a veteran experiencing difficulties, I would encourage you to consider attending the next NC-13 Veteran’s Resource Event or contact his office for support.”
Amanda Stroud, Military/Veteran Recruiter at Fayetteville Technical Community College, shared her perspective on the initiative: “What an incredible day at the veteran’s resource event hosted by Representative Brad Knott! I’m so thankful for the opportunity to connect with so many amazing organizations dedicated to supporting our veterans. The resources shared today were truly invaluable, and it was inspiring to see our community come together to honor and serve those who have sacrificed so much for our country,” she said. “I am grateful to have Congressman Knott step up for our veterans. This event was worthwhile for any veteran looking to access resources from government and nonprofit entities, as well as institutions of higher education. We’re all on the same team and share the goal of removing barriers for veterans to receive the support they’ve so justly earned through their service to our great county.”
Brad Knott secured his position as U.S. Representative after defeating Frank Pierce in 2024 with 58.6% of votes compared to Pierce’s 41.4%.
