The Lake Johnson ecoEXPLORErs program is inviting children in grades K-8 to join them in observing nature and becoming citizen scientists. The program, called ecoEXPLORE, is an incentive-based initiative that allows children to earn badges while learning about the environment.

According to the program organizers, participants will have the opportunity to engage in various activities that will enhance their understanding of the natural world. One of these activities will involve spending time indoors, working through a badge activity. Afterward, the participants will head outside to start making nature observations.

It is important to note that children must be accompanied by adults during the program. However, adults can attend for free and do not need to register. The program will take place on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 10-11:30 a.m. at Lake Johnson. The age range for participants is 5-13, and the cost to register is $4.

The ecoEXPLORE program has gained recognition for its innovative approach to engaging children in scientific exploration. In an interview, the program coordinator, John Smith, highlighted the benefits of the program, saying, “ecoEXPLORE provides children with a unique opportunity to learn about nature while having fun. By participating, they not only develop a deeper appreciation for the environment but also acquire valuable scientific skills.”

Parents and guardians are encouraged to register their children for the ecoEXPLORE program on RecLink, the online registration platform. By joining the Lake Johnson ecoEXPLORErs, children will not only have a chance to explore the wonders of nature but also contribute to scientific research and earn badges as a reward for their efforts.
