The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission will hold its meetings on May 13 and May 14 in the Ground Floor Hearing Room of the Archdale Building in Raleigh, according to an April 29 announcement. The public can attend these meetings either in person or virtually by computer or phone.

These meetings are important because the commission is responsible for making rules that protect, preserve, and enhance North Carolina’s air and water resources. The group also oversees rulemaking for several divisions within the Department of Environmental Quality, including Air Quality, Land Resources, Waste Management, and Water Resources.

Committee meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, May 13 at 9 a.m., while the full commission meeting will take place on Thursday, May 14 at the same time. Both events will be held at the Archdale Building located at 512 N. Salisbury St., Raleigh. Information about how to join remotely is available through Webex links provided by the commission.

Agendas and supporting documents for these sessions will be posted on the Commission website when they become available. The commission encourages members of the public who wish to follow discussions or participate to check online resources for updates.

The upcoming meetings provide an opportunity for citizens and stakeholders to engage with state leaders as they address environmental policy issues affecting North Carolina.
