Residents of Raleigh are encouraged to participate in National Play Outside Day, which takes place on the first Saturday of every month. The next event is scheduled for Saturday, September 6.
Raleigh Parks offers a variety of outdoor activities for community members. Options include visiting playgrounds, walking or biking along more than 120 miles of Greenway trails, exploring local lakes, and playing at athletic fields. Residents are also invited to spend time outdoors with family and friends.
Outdoor play provides several benefits such as promoting lifelong physical activity, encouraging discovery and imagination, enjoying nature, and creating lasting memories with others.
Raleigh Parks invites participants to share their experiences by tagging @Raleigh Parks in social media posts from the event.
