The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Resources (DWR) has granted a Clean Water Act Section 401 water quality certification for the T-15 Reliability Project. The project is proposed by Public Services Company of North Carolina, which operates in the state as Enbridge Gas North Carolina.

The approval comes after a detailed review process that included public hearings on June 12 and June 24. DWR also collected feedback through mail and email. According to the department, “Responses to public comments are included in the accompanying hearing officer’s report.”

The Section 401 certification evaluates whether projects comply with state water quality standards, specifically examining if impacts to surface waters or wetlands have been avoided or minimized.

All related documents, including the hearing officer’s report, are available for public review.
