The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Marine Fisheries has released new information on recently approved management measures for oyster and hard clam fisheries. This follows the adoption of amendments to the fishery management plans by the N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission during its May business meeting.

To address potential questions regarding these changes, the division has prepared informational flyers for both oyster and hard clam fisheries. These resources aim to provide clarity on the newly implemented measures outlined in the Oyster Fishery Management Plan Amendment 5 and Hard Clam Fishery Management Plan Amendment 3.

Further details can be accessed through Eastern Oyster Management Information and Hard Clam Management Information provided by the department.
