North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission to meet April 15-16 in Ocean Isle Beach

The North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission will hold its next meeting on April 15 and 16 at the Town of Ocean Isle Beach, located at 111 Causeway Drive, according to an announcement made on April 8. Members of the public are invited to attend either in person or online through an updated livestream link.

The commission’s activities will begin with a field trip to the Ocean Isle Beach Terminal Groin at 3 p.m. on April 15. The full meeting is scheduled for April 16 starting at 9 a.m., with a public comment period set for approximately 9:30 a.m. Attendees wishing to speak may sign up upon arrival.

Meeting materials, including the agenda and briefing documents, are available on the CRC website. Organizers note that the order of agenda items may change during the session.

The Coastal Resources Commission is responsible for setting policies for North Carolina’s Coastal Management Program and adopting rules related to both the Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA) and the N.C. Dredge and Fill Act. The commission also designates areas of environmental concern, establishes regulations for coastal development within those areas, and certifies local land use plans.
