The City of Raleigh is hosting an Open House event on February 21, 2024, to promote sustainable practices in affordable housing. The Open House will take place at the Walnut Creek Wetland Center, specifically in the Neuse Room located at 950 Peterson St, Raleigh, NC. Interested individuals are invited to drop by between 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to learn more about Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI), rooftop solar, and potential incentives and funding for sustainable measures.
According to the Housing and Neighborhoods Department, future competitive Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Notice of Funding Availability’s (NOFAs) may offer scoring criteria incentives and financial assistance for developments that meet certain affordable housing, GSI, and solar criteria. This presents an excellent opportunity for developers to explore potential incentives and future funding opportunities.
During the event, City staff will be available to answer questions and provide resources on various topics related to sustainable practices in affordable housing. Some of the specific areas of focus include affordable housing RFP and NOFA criteria, City of Raleigh stormwater regulations, incentives for GSI, national and local examples of GSI in affordable housing, and subsidies for rooftop solar in affordable housing projects.
