A new photography class will be offered at Abbotts Creek Park, focusing on helping participants improve their skills with the cameras they already own. The class, titled “How to take better photographs with the camera you already have,” will be led by members of the Capital City Camera Club.

According to organizers, the course will address technical aspects such as the exposure triangle, histogram, metering, depth of field, and shooting in different modes, including manual mode. In addition to these technical fundamentals, artistic elements like composition, subject placement, point of view, and developing a photographic eye will also be discussed.

Participants are expected to bring their own cameras and should have a basic understanding of how their equipment works. The program is designed for individuals aged 16 and older.

The class is scheduled for Saturday, September 13 and September 20 from 10 a.m. to noon. There is a $15 fee for registration. All proceeds from the program will benefit the Play it Forward Scholarship campaign for Raleigh Parks.

“Pre-registration is required for this program, and all payments will go to the Play it Forward Scholarship campaign for Raleigh Parks.”

Registration can be completed through RecLink.
