The City of Raleigh and Police Chief Estella Patterson have taken a significant step towards transparency by petitioning the Superior Court for the release of police body camera footage from February 10. The presiding judge has granted authorization for the video to be made public.

The request for the video release was initiated by the City of Raleigh and Police Chief Estella Patterson, who emphasized the importance of transparency in law enforcement operations. As stated by Patterson, “In the continued spirit of transparency, the City of Raleigh and Police Chief Estella Patterson petitioned the Superior Court to release video that captured interactions of Raleigh Police Department officers on February 10.”

Following careful consideration, the presiding judge granted approval for the video to be shared with the public. According to the judge, “After reviewing this request, the presiding judge authorized the release of the video.”

The released video is now accessible to the public, providing a firsthand look at the events that unfolded during the interactions involving Raleigh Police Department officers on February 10.
