Prime Video will introduce a series of new interactive features and AI-powered enhancements as it begins its 11-year partnership with the NBA on October 24. These updates are designed to improve personalization, engagement, and broadcast quality for basketball fans watching NBA games on the platform.
Among the new offerings is personalized bet tracking in collaboration with FanDuel. When users link their Prime Video profile to their FanDuel account, they can see real-time updates of their active NBA bets during live games, including progress and win/loss status. However, placing bets directly through Prime Video is not possible. An additional Odds View feature displays rotating feeds of live odds, lines, and probabilities for popular bets such as moneylines, spreads, player props, and more. Both features can be disabled in the app settings.
The Multiview function allows subscribers to watch multiple NBA games at once across most devices. Users can customize which game appears in the main window while keeping track of other matchups in smaller windows.
Key Moments uses AI technology to curate important plays throughout each game. Fans can access highlights like dunks or critical three-pointers instantly during live broadcasts. The Rapid Recap feature compiles impactful moments into a short highlight reel for viewers who join late, then transitions them into live coverage.
In-game statistics are also more accessible with an updated Stats interface that provides both traditional box scores and advanced stats powered by AWS in real time.
All NBA broadcasts on Prime Video will be delivered in native 1080p HDR video with 5.1 surround sound. The streaming service uses proprietary low-latency technology developed with AWS to ensure minimal delay and synchronization between video feeds and live action.
To watch NBA games on Prime Video, fans need a compatible device such as a smartphone, tablet, set-top box, game console, or smart TV where the app is available worldwide. Content can also be downloaded for offline viewing on iOS, Android, and Fire devices.
A Prime membership includes access to Prime Video for $14.99 per month or $139 per year. Discounted memberships are available for young adults and qualifying government assistance recipients at half price.
According to Amazon’s website (https://www.amazon.com/prime), a Prime membership offers several benefits beyond video streaming services.
“Personalized bet tracking feature presents a dynamic, real-time integration of betting information during live game action,” according to Amazon’s announcement about its partnership with FanDuel.
“Multiview feature puts control directly in fans’ hands,” Amazon stated regarding its customizable viewing options for simultaneous games.
“Key Moments provides fans with easy access to the most exciting and pivotal plays throughout the game in real time,” said Amazon about its use of proprietary AI models during broadcasts.
