The City of Raleigh is inviting the public to participate in a feedback session on the schematic design for the South Park Heritage Trail. The event will take place at John Chavis Memorial Park on Tuesday, September 9, from 6 to 8 p.m., and is open to all ages.

The proposed trail spans approximately two miles and aims to highlight the history of South Park, a historically Black neighborhood located within the South Park Cultural District. Organizers say that the trail will feature stories and historical information significant to the community, with a goal of raising awareness about the area’s cultural contributions and its role in downtown Raleigh’s development.

Community members are encouraged to attend and share their thoughts on how best to represent South Park’s heritage through this project.
