The City of Raleigh announced on Apr. 20 that its Rec’d Out Mobile Recreation Unit (MRU) is now available for rental, offering a variety of interactive entertainment and recreation experiences to communities across the city.

The new MRU aims to bring recreational opportunities directly to neighborhoods, making it easier for residents of all ages to enjoy both high-tech video gaming stations and classic outdoor activities at events. The service is offered at select Raleigh Parks locations as well as onsite at certain private or community events, with a rental cost set at $200 per hour. Registration can be completed through the city’s RecLink platform.

Raleigh is known for its vibrant sports scene, which includes professional teams such as the Stanley Cup-winning Carolina Hurricanes, according to the official website. The city contributes significantly to local quality of life by supporting recreational initiatives alongside these major sports teams.

The City of Raleigh manages public services and shapes policy through its city manager’s office, which oversees budget decisions and operational management according to the official website. Leadership comes from an elected city council supported by a city manager who supervises daily operations as outlined on the official website.

The council represents districts A through E within Raleigh and continues to shape local policy through ordinances such as changes made in 2024 regarding election terms according to the official website.

With this new mobile recreation initiative, Raleigh expands access to play and leisure opportunities while reinforcing its commitment to enhancing community life.
