Raleigh announces Soccer Square Fan Fest for World Cup opening weekend

The City of Raleigh announced on May 14 that it will host the Soccer Square Fan Fest, a four-day community event celebrating the opening weekend of the 2026 World Cup at Moore Square in downtown Raleigh.

The festival is intended to bring residents and visitors together to watch live match screenings and participate in soccer-themed activities. The event is free and open to all ages, with food and drinks available for purchase. Organizers said no registration is required, but attendees should check online for weather updates.

Soccer Square Fan Fest will run from Thursday, June 11 through Sunday, June 14. Activities include live broadcasts of World Cup matches on a large outdoor screen, food trucks, a beer garden, lawn games, and interactive soccer experiences each day. On select days, fans can meet members of the North Carolina Courage professional soccer team during special engagement sessions.

Sponsors for the event include NC Courage and Friends of City of Raleigh Museum. The full schedule features match screenings such as Mexico vs. South Africa on Thursday afternoon; Canada vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as United States vs. Paraguay on Friday; Qatar vs. Switzerland and Brazil vs. Morocco on Saturday; plus Germany vs. Curaçao and Ivory Coast vs. Ecuador on Sunday.
