On June 20, the City of Raleigh’s Fair Housing Hearing Board and Housing and Neighborhoods Department organized the 2025 Fair Housing Conference under the theme “Fair Housing is Still Law.” The event aimed to unite residents, housing professionals, and advocates to enhance fair housing protections and raise awareness about local and national challenges.

The conference included sessions on Raleigh’s housing history and current barriers to equity. Lorena Dionne McDowell delivered a keynote address focusing on systemic change and the necessity for continued progress.

The event forms a crucial part of the City’s efforts to ensure equal access to housing for all residents, free from discrimination.
