Raleigh Parks has launched a new initiative, “Postcards from the Parks,” offering a unique way for visitors to share their experiences. This summer, participants can collect free postcards from marketing ambassadors at selected parks, write messages, and drop them into special mailboxes on-site. Raleigh Parks will handle the mailing process without charge.
The campaign includes specific Ambassador Days across various parks:
– July 16, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Wilkerson Nature Preserve
– July 21, 5 – 7 p.m., Crabtree Creek West
– July 26, 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Sertoma/Shelley Lake
– July 31, 4 – 7 p.m., Lake Johnson Pool
– August 4, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., Gipson Play Plaza
– August 8, 6 – 9 p.m., John Chavis Memorial Park (During Beats and Eats)
– August 10, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Lake Johnson Waterfront
– August 16, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., John Chavis Memorial Park (During Jamboree)
“Postcards from the Parks is a creative way for people to engage with our spaces and share their love for Raleigh Parks. It’s more than a postcard—it’s a conversation starter, a memory, and a simple way to brighten someone’s day.”
Participants are encouraged to visit participating parks to pick up postcards from the designated displays. They can write messages addressed to friends or loved ones and place them in marked mailboxes for postage-free delivery by Raleigh Parks.
For added convenience, an electronic postcard option is available. Participants can select digital templates and send messages via email without needing stamps.
“Join the movement, share the joy, and show your park pride one postcard at a time.”
