The City of Raleigh is emphasizing the importance of stable housing by offering Homeowner Rehab and Repair Programs to assist residents with low and moderate incomes. These initiatives aim to help individuals, particularly older adults, remain in their homes safely as they age.

The programs offer zero-percent interest forgivable loans for essential repairs and accessibility enhancements. This assistance allows residents to age in place without facing costly displacement.

One of the available programs is the Limited Repair Program, which provides up to $20,000 for urgent repairs. This program is administered by Preserving Home, a local nonprofit organization. Applications can be submitted through this organization.

Another option is the Raleigh Home Revitalization Program, offering up to $30,000 for repairs and accessibility improvements in specific areas. Like the Limited Repair Program, it is also managed by Preserving Home.

These efforts ensure that longtime residents can continue living in their cherished homes and neighborhoods with safety and dignity.

For further information or to apply for these programs, interested parties can contact Preserving Home at 919-336-5200 or via email at programs@preservehome.org.
