Raleigh Parks will host a community event to showcase progress on 23 projects funded by the 2022 parks bond. The event, titled “Raleigh Parks from Bond to Beyond,” aims to inform residents about current and upcoming developments in city parks. It will take place at Dix Park, Greg Poole, Jr., All Faiths Chapel on Thursday, March 26, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The gathering is free and open to families.

Attendees can expect food, music, games, arts activities, and a raffle with prizes. Organizers encourage the public to meet the people involved in these projects and learn how community decisions translate into improved public spaces.

“When Raleigh voters approved the 2022 parks bond, they invested in healthier neighborhoods, stronger connections, and places where memories are made,” organizers stated.

The City of Raleigh plays an active role in enhancing quality of life for its residents through initiatives like this event. The city also supports a vibrant sports scene with teams such as the Stanley Cup-winning Carolina Hurricanes (https://raleighnc.gov/doing-business/services/why-raleigh/quality-life-raleigh). Oversight of these efforts comes from an elected city council and a city manager who manages daily operations (https://raleighnc.gov/city-council;https://raleighnc.gov/city-managers-office).

The city council represents various districts across Raleigh (https://raleighnc.gov/city-council) and has implemented policy changes including updates to election terms in recent years (https://raleighnc.gov/city-council).

Organizers invite all community members to join the celebration and see firsthand how collective action shapes Raleigh’s park system.
