Raleigh’s Walnut Creek Wetland Park Receives $845,258 Grant for Bailey Drive Gateway Project

The City of Raleigh, North Carolina, is set to receive a significant boost for its environmental initiatives as it was announced that the Walnut Creek Wetland Park-Bailey Drive Gateway Project has been selected to receive $845,258 in grant funding. The funding comes from the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) Program administered by the National Park Service.

The project, which aims to create the Bailey Drive Gateway at Walnut Creek Wetland Park, is a collaborative effort involving various organizations. According to the announcement, “This is a partnership project through the collaboration of Raleigh Parks, The Conservation Fund, Walnut Creek Wetland Partners, and Water Resources Research Institute.”

Furthermore, it was stated that “Once the ORLP grant award is finalized, the project will proceed with design and implementation.” This marks an important step towards the realization of the project and the enhancement of the Walnut Creek Wetland Park in Raleigh.
