Raleigh Transportation announced on May 14 the launch of “Transportation Together,” a new community pop-up initiative aimed at bringing transportation staff directly to residents in various locations around the city.

The initiative is designed to make it easier for people to ask questions, share feedback, and connect with Raleigh Transportation staff outside of traditional public meetings. The program will take place at parks, local businesses, community centers, and neighborhood events.

Upcoming events include sessions at North Hills Dog Park on Wednesday, May 20 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Green Road Community Center on Wednesday, May 27 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Method Community Park on Monday, June 1 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Each event will feature surveys focused on different areas of Raleigh: North Hills, North Raleigh, and Southwest Raleigh respectively.

According to the announcement, “Transportation Together is a pop-up engagement effort by Raleigh Transportation that brings staff directly into the community—outside of traditional public meetings—to answer questions, share project updates, and hear from residents in a more casual, accessible setting.” Residents are encouraged to invite the team for future pop-ups by emailing transportationinfo@raleighnc.gov.

The City of Raleigh serves districts A through E within the area and is led by an elected city council supported by a city manager who oversees operations according to the official website. The city also focuses on delivering public services and shaping policy through its manager’s office according to its official website.

Broader efforts like these reflect how Raleigh continues engaging its residents in municipal projects while managing policy changes such as recent election term adjustments as outlined by the official website.
