The academy will commence on April 10 and will run for 12 to 14 weeks. No prior experience is required, and the starting salary is $45,323.
Prospective applicants must submit their applications by February 5, 2025, before midnight. Those who qualify will undergo the CritiCall assessment to evaluate skills such as data entry, typing speed and accuracy, spelling, and reading comprehension. Successful candidates will then proceed to a virtual panel interview.
Further steps for recommended candidates include a criminal background check, psychological evaluation, and additional pre-employment requirements.
The academy offers hands-on training for roles as a call taker or telecommunicator. Responsibilities in these roles include answering emergency (911), non-emergency, and administrative calls; gathering critical information from callers; and entering data into the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
