Red Hat, a prominent provider of open source solutions, has unveiled Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Business Developers. This new offering aims to streamline access to the leading enterprise Linux platform for development and testing in business contexts. Available through the Red Hat Developer Program, it allows business development teams to build, test, and iterate applications on the same platform used for production systems across hybrid clouds at no cost.

As IT complexity increases with applications deployed across various environments and cybersecurity threats rise, a consistent and reliable platform is crucial. The new service addresses these challenges by providing developers with self-serve access to enterprise-ready Red Hat Enterprise Linux content within their businesses. This ensures greater consistency across developer and operations teams.

The offering includes simplified access allowing up to 25 instances per user as part of the Red Hat Developer Program. It also features curated developer content including open-source programming languages, tools, databases, and container tooling like Podman Desktop. Users can purchase optional support subscriptions from Red Hat.

Gunnar Hellekson, vice president and general manager of Red Hat Enterprise Linux at Red Hat stated: “Modern developers need to be able to move at their own pace…without increasing friction with IT operations teams or production systems.”

This initiative complements existing offerings such as the no-cost Red Hat Developer Subscription for Individuals and other team-focused subscriptions available through representatives or partners.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Business Developers is now generally available.
