Robin Wright stars in the new thriller series “The Girlfriend,” now available for streaming on Prime Video. The six-episode season is based on Michelle Frances’ novel and follows Laura, played by Wright, whose life changes dramatically after her son introduces his new girlfriend.
“The Girlfriend” can be watched exclusively on Prime Video, with all episodes released at once for viewers who prefer to watch the entire series in one sitting. The service is accessible through various devices, including desktops, smartphones, tablets, set-top boxes, game consoles, and select smart TVs. Episodes are also available for offline viewing on iOS, Android, and Fire devices.
Prime Video is included as part of an Amazon Prime membership. Membership costs $14.99 per month or $139 annually. There are discounted options for young adults (ages 18-24), college students, and qualifying government assistance recipients. The plot centers around Laura’s suspicions about her son’s girlfriend Cherry (Olivia Cooke) and questions whether her doubts are justified or if she is losing touch with reality. Laurie Davidson plays Daniel, Laura’s son. The cast also includes Waleed Zuaiter, Tanya Moodie, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Karen Henthorn, Anna Chancellor, Leo Suter, and Francesca Corney.
