The City of Raleigh will host a grand opening event for new pickleball courts at Sanderford Road Park on Saturday, August 30. The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to all ages at no cost.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a live demonstration and receive free instruction in pickleball, which has become one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States. Equipment will be provided, and no registration is required.

Organizers encourage both newcomers and experienced players to attend, highlighting the event as an opportunity for community members to try out the sport and connect with others.

“Come learn the fastest-growing sport in the country with a live demo and free instruction. Whether you’re brand new or already a fan, this is a great chance to try it out and connect with others in the community. Bring your friends, bring your family—don’t miss it!” according to organizers.

The event aims to promote recreation and engagement among residents by providing access to new facilities at Sanderford Road Park.
