Residents interested in learning how to identify local trees will have an opportunity at Forest Ridge Park on Sunday, September 7. The event, which runs from 2 to 5 p.m., is open to adults aged 18 and older.

The program focuses on teaching participants how to recognize trees using characteristics such as bark, limbs, buds, branching patterns, leaves, seeds, and habitat. Attendees will receive field guides for local trees to keep and may be eligible for environmental education credits.

Registration is required through RecLink, and the cost is $10.
